I was happy with the scoop (good exercise).

The Sparrows wait for a Blue Jay to finish at the feeder.

A young Red Winged Blackbird is spending the winter here too.

The partridges are back (the rabbit scared them away though).

The 12 little blocks for the Temecula Quilt Co min mystery quilt are finished,
now I have to wait until Monday for the next step.

Probably the last day to see 'un-frozen' water.

Joanne

December 9th, 2015

The birds were out in full force today.
With temperatures around freezing, it feels more like spring.
Hard to believe that 2 years ago on this date it was -43℃!

Finished the sleeves on my sweater.

Yesterday was a beautiful frosty day. I love the sound the snow makes in the winter when I walk on it, and I wanted to share it. There are also the sounds of the birds, and the sounds from the children playing outside in the school grounds behind our home.

Day 30

Today is the last day of my month long daily blogging. It has been fun to do it again.
I thought I would end with a video. Last week we gave my husband a drone for his birthday. This is a short video my son took from our back yard, over the house and of our surroundings.

Day 29

A bit hard to see, but in the sky there are 2 of the Snowbird jets in for the Grey Cup in Winnipeg (the championship game for the Canadian Football League), about 10 minutes before there was the rest of the team, but I missed getting a photo.

Joanne

Day 28

This is what is on my needles - a hand spun sweater.

Joanne

Day 27

My first time making croissants.

Joanne

Day 25

It is nice to be volunteering at the book fair again this year.

Joanne

Day 24

More Christmas lights - rope lighting.

Joanne

Day 23

Christmas lights (these are the projection type).

Joanne

Day 22

Someone was happy that it was snowing again this morning.

Joanne

Day 20

I am amazed at the snow drifts after just one storm.

Joanne

Day 19

First winter storm.

Day 18

A beautiful frosty morning -

Day 17

Other photos that look more like spring than mid November -

Poppy seeds have germinated (I hope there will be some seeds left for next summer).

A rose growing well and getting ready to bloom.

Looks like a lilac is ready to bloom too.

It will be interesting to see how things will be in the spring.

Joanne

Day 16

Mid-November in Manitoba and there are still flowers blooming!

Joanne

Day 14

I recently won a set of double pointed needles and discovered that they make perfect cable needles (so pretty, and they don't get misplaced).

Joanne

Day 13

Finished knitting a pair of socks with wool that I dyed and spun.

Joanne

Day 12

Something new for me, thanks to a Craftsy class and a new piping bag/tips - peppermint kisses meringues - delicious!

Joanne

Day 11

Good day for putting everything away for winter.

Joanne

Day 10

I am pleased to have reached the binding stage for this quilt.

Joanne

Day 9

My son has started making a knife from an old saw blade (something he saw on YouTube).

Joanne

Day 8

I finished knitting another cowl.

Joanne

Day 7

I can never resist a beautiful sunset, this one had a flock of geese too.

Joanne

Day 6

We visited my parents this evening, and this is the view from their condo.

Joanne

Day 5

I finished knitting a cowl with beautiful yarn all the way from New Zealand!

Joanne

Day 4

More of my new baking/cooking hobby - cheese and spinach soufflé.
Last month I bought the Craftsy month pass and tried all kinds of classes to learn new things - this was definitely new to me (and much easier than I thought a soufflé would be), plus it was delicious.

Joanne

Day 3

Of all my hobbies, baking is the one that my family takes an interest in (this is an apple pie).

Joanne

Day 2

It was nice to finish our Christmas shopping before the mall was packed for Christmas.
We don't do much shopping.

Day 365 0f 365!!!

I was surprised to see this plant bloom today, and I thought it was a fitting last photo for my 365 day blog.

The year photo journal has been fun, and I have realized a few things - with cold temperatures for a good part of the year, most of my photos are taken out of a window, and my life really revolves around things at our home.
Thanks for sharing the experience with me. Now I am going to concentrate on my main blog.
