Day 252

It is always interesting to see what is in the trees when the leaves start to fall - usually it is bird nests, but this year there is a wasp nest!

Day 246

The snow dump from last winter (photo here) is almost melted. The "hill" was still quite large until recently,  it even made the national news! Workers have been bulldozing the snow for about a week to get it to all melt - this is the first year I have seen this.

Day 245

Officially the first day of fall here.

Joanne

Day 244

I was surprised to see wild turkeys on the side of the road!

Day 243

Today was "Open Farm Day" in our province, so we went to see two different farms.

The first was a small 'hobby farm' -

The second was an alpaca farm-

A lovely day!

Day 236

Yesterday we went to Grazing in the Field, a wonderful event to celebrate local food.

It involves a tour of the dairy farm - always interesting.

Plus gourmet dinning - 6 courses - this was the cheese course (all Canadian cheeses from across the country).

Joanne

Day 235

A new visitor - a hawk.

Joanne

Day 234

A skein of hand dyed, hand spun yarn for my Mother.

Joanne

Day 233

The harvest before the frost - not many tomatoes this year, but lots of peppers (from 4 plants!).

Joanne

Day 232

 A sure sign of fall,

so many geese in the field behind our home.

Joanne

Day 231

Frost in the forecast, so time to bring in the plants.

The dyeing and spinning from last week all knit up!

Joanne

Day 226

Garden veggies for supper.
The grass is like a carpet with all the rain.

Joanne

Day 225

Dewy cobwebs this morning.

Joanne

Day 224

We went to a conservatory.
It is hard to grasp the size of the plants, but they are huge!

This statue is about 5' tall.
